I have to get my zed resparayed, the body is in good condition, no panel damage except a few scratches, paint just faded a bit, does anyone know what a rough cost of a respray would be, also can anyone recomend somebody in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast. Thanks

here we go again, how long is a piece of string lol
2000-10,000,you cannot quote a spray job on a forum, there are too many variables such as work needed, type of paint, quality of the finish you want ,repairs needed etc, etc, etc,
Type paint into the search bar and you will find plently of arguments regarding cost of paintjobs lol
The only real way to know,is go to a few spray shops and get a few quotes

I think about $3000-4000 is the general price range for a good job, without going to over the top.

With some of the scratches.. if you run your fingernail in them, and if it doesnt catch you could try giving it a colour sand...

Then buff, n buff and clear coat.. and buff again..

Could come up a treat on the faded areas...

I searched this to death before I got my car done, every single thread on this topic is absolutely worthless for the most part consisting of arguements about what is/isn't acceptable to pay usually by those who are just kicking rocks. Now with the disclaimer aside, I found that there are a few schools of thought on this topic and I spoke to ALOT of bodyshops in the Brisbane area, got mutiple quotes etc

Blasting it back to bare metal and getting a complete respray can cost you upwards of $10,000 easily if the shop is professional, if they quote substantially less then bail. Take a look at thier setup too. If they dont have a professional booth and all of the proper gear or if you get any kind of bad vibe then run away. Also you'll soon learn by looking at the previous and current work they've done and the types of cars they're working on if they are truely good or not. See masses of Magnas and Commodores and other shit buckets? I'd advise to go somewhere else. If there is absolutely no damage to the car at all, and it just needs to be prepped and painted you can get a really great job done for $3,000-$5,000. It's not going to be as perfect as if it was blasted back to bare metal though obviously, to the trained eye you can tell it's been painted over, to anyone else they wont know though.

Mainly just becareful who you trust, bodyshops are dodgy as shit and always trying to scam insurance companies and customers. It's tough to find a good shop that a) doesn't just want your car in and out asap or b) isn't trying to scam you. I got some absolutely ridiculous quotes from some shops I wouldn't even trust to paint my lawnmower let alone the Z.

Get a ton of quotes, that's the best advice I can give and pick one that's around the middle that you got a good vibe from.

I recommend Camerons Bodyworks in Coopers Plains myself, just rock up and you'll see what I mean.
