So now that I'll be running E85 I plan to replace all the remaining factory rubber fuel hoses. Three of these are a sharp 90 deg, so I'm guessing these are molded hoses. (the two at the rear that join the hard lines running down the underside of the car with the hard lines that run up the side of the tank, and the fuel return hose at the top of the tank). Searching online it doesn't look like Gates make a 90 deg molded version of their Barricade fuel hose. So wondering what have others done that have replaced these hoses? Have you just used straight hose? The straight hose will bend to the angle required but it's on the verge of kinking.
Have you thought of a right angle brass or metal fitting then the hose onto that . I know more hose clamps be hay.
Yeah that's one option. Jury is out on brass and E85 though. I've already used quite a few including in tank so hopefully they'll be OK.
How do you find the Barricade fuel line? Was thinking of swapping my lines from the Dunlop Ortac to the barricade on my skyline.
PS: you can't use straight hose to replace the engine feed line at the bottom rear, will kink. Can just get away with it for the return line though. So does anyone know of anywhere you can get 90deg moulded ethanol compatible rubber EFI fuel hose?
Most people have changed everything at this stage. I have never seen a moulded rubber E85 hose anywhere, and I have looked at a shittonne (metric) of E85 stuff in the recent past.
Same. I think the only option is to straighten the hard pipe enough to replace the 90deg section with straight hose without kinks. TBH I don't know why these pipes are bent and positioned in such a way as to need a 90deg section of hose. The joining hose could have just as easily been made straight for both the feed and the return.
Use a 90 hardline adapter and a barb, or a straight hardline adapter and a 90 barb. I never looked at a 2+0 fuel layout so I don't know how much room there is.
Problem is the ends of the hard lines are very close, and the feed lines actually inside each others path so the 90deg hose is actually sort of bell shaped. Hard to explain. If I can straighten the hard line coming down the side of the tank then the replacement rubber hose will only have a 15-30deg angle.
