I heard that you can take out one of the turbo's from under the car without taking the engine out.. Just wondering if this is true and which turbo that is... If its true im praying that its the passenger side!

So ya know what ya in for.

Yeah passenger side can be removed with engine in.

But its no small job. I have done this. across a week just working on it at night.

What you do is, remove every thing on that side.

    1. Remove the 2 rubber pipes in the engine bay, 1, Throttle body 2, Compressor out let (next to each other)

    2. I.A.A units piping that runs along the side of the plenum

    4. Disconnect fuel hoses

    5. Remove Compressor Outlet metal hard pipe, and the rubber Compressor inlet pipe.

    6. Remove Dump pipe

    7. Remove Oil drain line connects into the sump

    8. Remove Oil inlet line from the connection where the Oil pressure sender is.

    9. Remove Water Inlet & Outlet lines

    10. Remove Manifold Cover, have to wiggle it around a bit and it will slide out.

    11. Remove the Rubber hose going to the waste gate.

    12. Remove the waste gate from the turbo

    13. Remove the E.G.R tube from the back of the manifold

    Now the arm twisting starts.

I got the majority of the exhaust manifold nuts undone using a quarter inch socket set.

Then for the rest I used a spanner, and for some of them i had to cut bend a spanner to suit to be able to get it un-done. its a mission at the end if it your arms and neck will be sore as ! from being in such strange positions for such a long period of time haha. Some nuts you can only get a few ratchet clicks a turn, so takes a while.

Then the you just wiggle it off the studs and slip it out from under neath.
