removing rust worth it or.

    hi guys under my car i have a fair amount of rust on the sill section does anyone on here cut out the rust i have someone who can weld it off for me what do you guys recommend work the job or not. its under my car

    Anyone who is competent welding sheet metal should be able to cut it out?

    He's a boilermaker/welder. He wanted someone else to cut it an he was going to weld it. How do i upload pics?

    If its only in 1 spot and you get a doner car it wouldnt be so bad.

    If its a reshell or fix. I would consider fixing it

    The problem with rust is, it usually occurs from the inside to the outside, where two pieces of metal are joined.

    So when you start cutting it out, it often ends up a bigger job than first anticipated.

    You would cut it out with an angle grinder or nibbler tool, stick a gooseneck camera in to look for more rust if possible. Depends where exactly. Photos?

    BTW, what happened to that foam fill (would help prevent moisture causing rust getting inside that will area)
