Hi guys, just had my car in recently with tom and he tuned it, but said that the car wasn't holding boost above 11psi (did about 275hpatw). He suggested that the intercoolers were probably the cause, but after setting up some larger side mounts, it still wasn't holding pressure! Anyways, he said it's most likely wastegate actuators, but I was just thinking about the possibility of recircs losing pressure. I have a pod and get goose honk indicating that the recircs are dying/dead. Could recircs possibly cause the lack of pressure above 11psi?
specialty zed run stock recircs on all there high power builds. they love them. they did mention that you can have some issues at 30psi tho..
Rather than speculate and waste money on parts that don't need replacing take them off and test them.
What turbos? And what actuators? 11-14 psi max is pretty common for stock actuators on BB core turbos because the core isn't at long (inlet and exhaust housings are closer togerther).
Hmm, so unlikely to be. Was just thinking about the possibilities, as I was searching through seeing if anybody else had had this issue before
Thinking outside the box here but what is controling your boost? I.e could it be an EBC? if so, double check piping has been done properly and the safety boost solenoids are out of the loop, i'd suggest this even if running MBC. Had similar issue with mine... MoulaZX
