hi there all. i have just diagnosed my car as needing new rear wheel bearings.can anyone tell me if it is a simple job or will i need bearing pullers etc.. i can get these from work.. also can anyone tell me where to get some or even a non nissan part number. as i have rung all the bearing traders in newcastle and no-one stocks them.... thanks... regards brett.........
Had a rear wheel bearing done last month >>> but didn't do it myself. I was told by a reputable person that the rear wheel bearings HAVE to be a Nissan OEM part; think you will find they are priced around $300 or so EACH. If not, then I got shafted!
You didn't get shafted.......>> The part is only available from Nissan as it is a bearing and carrier in one complete unit designed to mount the rear hub. It can be done at home but you will need access to a press to get the bearing off the drive shaft.
i have a drivers side TT rear wheel bearing that is brand new still in the box that i want to sell im after $260 plus post (about 5-10 dollars)
Sorry to bring up such an old post... does anyone know if the rear wheel bearing could be removed from the axle housing without using a press, just the right sized drift and a big hammer? Or does anyone in Melbourne have a swing press and a free weekend morning/afternoon
this thread is from last year, I brought it back as I had a question about removing the bearing from the axle housing
Re: this thread is from last year, I brought it back as I had a question shit sorry, i didnt look at the times posted
You got Shafted, Mikey >> I've just done both rear wheel bearings & they cost $260 ea from Nissan in Sydney. Fronts if your interested are $65 ea, but make sure you order the Grease Seal which is another $30 ea. Cheers Kerry
Well so it is >> In that case, He Really Got Shafted, what with inflation & all, he paid near on $300 a year & a half ago & I paid $260 3 weeks ago.:LOL::LOL: Cheers Kerry
