For sometime my car has had a high pitched rotational squeak coming from the rear.

    Description -

    - Can notice it slightly when reversing, seems more obvious when getting underway with 1st gear.
    - Same level of sound when rolling in neutral.
    - Sound gets faster not louder when going up to 60kph, still present at fast speeds but probably not as noticeable due to other natural road noises.
    - I put the rear end on stands and put car into 1st gear, can't hear squeaking sound at all. Tried using short piece of hose to listen to diff, wheel hubs, tail shaft.
    - Tailshaft/Diff fluid replaced 2000KM's ago.
    - Slightly rumbling from rear when 50/60kph and over.
    - Sounds like metal against metal (high pitched)

Im starting to think if I put my rear end on stands and can't hear the sound, perhaps my wheel bearings are going ? Since I think downward loading might affect that ? Brake issues I would expect the sound to be always there even when on stands.

Sounds like bearings to me. Id say you are on the money with downward loading ;)
