Anyone know if i can get some generic rubber mold that will fit? I'm fairly sure that I read a post with someone claiming that a window guy just used some he had on a roll but can't find the post....
Yep, that would be ME I used a local guy which probably wont do you a lot of good seeing you are in Essendon and I am in Berwick. I would say most windscreen installers have a moulding that will do the job.
not the case. i dont know how u got him to do it, but the guy said to me the window would have to come out. i called the same guy and he wouldnt do it without pulling the glass out, which i denied. same goes with other installers they wont do it without taking the window out.... if u can get a hold of him again or someone that will do a replacement without taking the glass out let me know graham.
I got the OEM one off the other day and you can definitely put it on once the window is already in place
Well, I CAN TELL YOU THAT I ACTUALLY FITTED THE RUBBER WHILE HE DID THE WINDSCREEN. It aint rocket science. That was in the TT. For the NA, 12 months earlier. He had a moulding that didnt have the hook to hold it under the glass like the one I used in the TT. But it was more like a t pce and we glued it into the channel. Maybe he didnt like the look of you Chad !! CANT BLAME HIM lol
yes ofcoarse u can do it urself, i was just informing that a windscreen guy wont actually do that job without taking the window out. if u have already taken the old one out kool, just make sure u get a rubber that doesnt hook under the glass so u can easily glue it in place how did u take the old rubber out? im guessing with a heatgun melting the glue and getting it out ? i wasnt saying it cannot be done. just commenting that they, the windscreen guys, wont do the job without taking the glass out. dont ask me why but i rang many windscreen places even ur guy and they denied doing it without taking the glass out prob to be cleaner job etc i duno... but ye u can do it urself easily...
