Hey, so the rear of my n/a is stripped from the seats back pre much...
Im running 245/35 19's the tyres are more for dry but eh.

Anyway I tend to lose traction quite easily if I go around a corner to quickly as I have no weight in the rear im guessing... I have a fckload of weights under the house for work, plates etc. I plan on putting a few in the back.

What would be a good weight to chuck in the rear? In the dry I have no issues and i prefer not having much weight in the back as it feels better with the coilovers i got in it.

    Any Info etc! Cheers :D

A lot of people say the spare tyre in a 2+0 aids traction, so a weight may help... what WILL help is good tyres. Don't weigh down your car to compensate for crap rubber. You risk spinning out - would you use cheap, untested condoms?

Heres an thought, why strip the back if your just going to put more weight in it?

And another thing, don't go so fast around corners in the wet if you don't want it to kick out?

^ that too... I learned the hard way in the wet, spun spectacularly 360* in the wet around an off-cambered downhill bend (is there any worse?) and went straight into a guard rail in my NA... right before I was selling it!

Definitely need better tyres! I have ebay "triangles" on mine at the moment and while they are fine in the dry, in the wet any decent corner taken over ~20km/h = sliding rear end.

This never used to happen with decent tyres.

I stripped the rear for a reason and haven't had a chance to put it all back together >.>

And when I say fast, it doesn't take much to slide out.

I used to have 255's Pilot Sports on the rear which are great!!! BUT due to me gettin fined for having tyres that provide more grip and safety I had to put cheap ones that i could afford on at the time... yay! great laws!

I also lost it like you anti and did a full 360 coming off a round about in the wet when running late for work but i managed to miss everything !! just felt like a douche sitting on the wrong side of the road :p hahaha

I have 275 Nangkangs on the rear (cheapies I know) and it still managed to slide its ass out quite easily, even off boost.

Next set I'm gonna drop quite a bit more dosh and get a decent set.

How does the law get you into trouble for having good quality tyres?

Go and get yourself some good tyres like Federal 595's which i got for $160 a tyre which is a bargain...ive had them for around 3 months now and i have only good things to say about it. The grip is exceptional especislly in the wet. When i had cheap tyres i had to go to 3rd or even 4th gear just to get traction without sliding everywhere. Now with my Federal 595's i feel like the car is sticking to the road no matter how fast i go around a corner. Great tyres!!!

Do the right thing and get good quality tyres, put everything back that you took out and put the spare tyre in if you want the excess weight and go have a good drive and see the difference :)

It's the tyres. Put some decent drag slicks on there, and watch the car rip it's own dashboard out when you plant the loud pedal at the strip

Highly recommend these too - I've got 595 EVO on the front and 595 SS on the rear and they're pretty good bang for buck! Look for the specials on SAU I got mine for $150 delivered:cool:

Mitch, I meant in the wet under heavy to light rainy conditions. In the dry they were fine and rarely gave way. At the strip they grabbed a little too well, made burnouts and launches difficult, but that's also attributed to totally f*cked diff bushes.

If a rear ARB is still fitted disconnect one end and try that. Should give you more rear grip but be careful of course.

Minimising the width of the rear tyres, given they are GOOD tyres, should minimise the chances of aquaplaning too. Stay away from Nankangs and other cheap crap rubber alike.
Just take it easy in the wet... who drives fast in the wet anyway, you're asking for a banana'ed 300zx if you do.
