Rear bar apron

Hey guys I know that a 2+2 rear bar does not fit a 2+0

but I'm wondering if a 2+2 rear bar apron will fit a 2+0

Is it the whole design of the bar that's different or just the mounting points.

I'm handy with trimming and fibreglassing if it's not to much work

 

No same as the actual bar, won't fit.
2+2 is a decent amount longer than 2+0

 

You'd have to cut out a section and glass the ends back on. Short answer no long answer easier than the other way around.

 

the difference is from the wheel arch to the rear edge of the bumper a 2+2 is longer in that dimension

If it fits the bar snug around the ass end but just is to long and protrudes into the wheel arch that's fine I'll cut it back and re glass it.

If your prepared to do that - you can make it work

 

Given that the side-view profile of the 2+2 bar is considerably different to that of the 2+0(and is essentially a triangular shape)any "cut & shut" exercise is going to be very problematic.
Try doing it with a scaled-down drawing of both bars and you will see what I am alluding to.:zlove:
