Reading Procky,s Post ( Zeds making a comeback ) & his personal campaign to bring zeds in some small amount back into enthusiasts minds and the publics eyes. , reminded me a bit about the other day, I took my Zed out to the Rattle & Hum Car show at castle hill RSL 2 weeks ago, I was not sure how it would be welcomed considering there was not to many Japanese Etc cars there ( 1 x R32 Skyline , 1 x Rx7 1 x MR2 & a few other older toyota,s etc ) However I am glad I did , A lot of people came & talked to me & took photos of my car which was great I was Surrounded by Muscle Cars, Hot Rods etc which is what the show focuses on but is open to all cars ( Even the PT Cruiser behind me ) Greg OldRedZed
Was this the car show run with the Hills Highway Patrol? I was going to attend, how ever, being a local 21 year old in a TT zed, I tend to avoid them like the plague. Your car looks great! Are you from around the Hills District?
I am not sure who it is run by, The RSL club combined with some of the car clubs ( Mustang , HDT , Corvette Owners Club etc ) Or maybe the Tallowood special School where all the proceeds went ? There was a Police HWP car there on display I don,t think you would have had any problems Cop wise, ( My car is pretty loud ) however compared with a lot of the cars there , I might as well have had my stock exhaust system back on. Some of the cars where crazy loud etc. I am in North Rocks ( Not far from Chris , LittleRedZX ) Thanks for the Replies Greg ( OldRedZed )
When is the next one? Be nice to keep a track on when the next one is. Looks like a well organised event too. Had some nice media coverage in the Daily Tele in the lead up to the event; not the usual hoonfest stuff but a good positive story about the event and the charity /community help and fun aspect of the show. Good to see the HWP presence there to support the event not ruin it etc. But can understand Logan's hesitance to attend. Contrast this against some of the shows that I have either attended or heard of in recent times... where the event was targeted en masse by the HWP's to bust people's cheeks etc. This does nothing to educate people, only alienates them. Be good if we could log/flag some of these potential events (Car shows and meets) in a sticky thread somewhere. There's been a couple of events I have recently missed cos I didn't know about them - or had short notice etc. (Oh Well!). Good on you Greg for flying the proverbial flag though.
