Tracked down an annoying rattle today inside the front of the car, by tapping things. Discovered that the plastic panel underneath the glovebox, held on by 4 plastic plugs, was the culprit. I've reattached it with Bluetack under the plugs - quiet as a mouse. A small amount of determination goes a long way. Hope this helps someone else. Regards, Tony
A weekend for it Must have been a weekend for it, I finaly fixed the boot lid rattle, the broken tonneau cover, threw some matt black on the windscreen cover that's above the battery, fixed a rear clearance light thats been out for way to long and a couple of small bits. Shit at this rate, next weekend I'll be cleaning and polishing.
Under the dash I've found at least a dozen potential rattles, the way most wiring loom connectors are secured to the body using slide in clips is a rattle waiting to happen. Nothing too obvious but enough to piss you off on rough roads.Takes a lot of patience and slowly working your way thru each section looking at how bits touch eachother. I remember a great post some time ago about how 'foam is your friend'. Must look that one up again for more inspiration!:>< Try a search on "rattles" and you'll come up with 112 more stories!
