i've got HKS SSQ BOV's. when i first got the car it only made one type of sound, which was a really loud very high pitched psssssssssst. recently it's the above type sound and sometimes a low pitched fluttering which isn't as loud. then tonight, she now has 3 types of sound, WTF? the two above and a very heart thumping PPPSSHHHHHH, like a cymbal almost. what's causing this? out of all i like the last one. so what's causing the problem? The sound of a SSQ BOV will vary with the amount of boost...... they have a two valve setup (a smaller one in the middle of a larger one) and the amount of pressure to be released will dictate which valve opens and how much. This combination will vary the sound.
