1 - TT zed 330hp 14psi manual = $13000 or 1 - NA zed 200hp (or less) auto = $8000 Long story short if i sold the TT and had lets say $3000 to spend on the NA (which is stock standard) how fast could i get it with the $3000 'play money' p.s. don't want to convert to TT or manual Thanks in advance :zlove:

(may need a few more dollars) Take the $700 from the above exhaust and add $500 and some of your fit money and you will find someone to fit the headers and install a complete new system. Just some ideas, and approximate costs, check that the headers are suitable for RHD and do some searching.

Thanks really well done, i know i wont ever get a NA to the same power of the TT, but as long as it has a nice chunk of power behind it, its ok with me. Well have alot to think about thanks
well firstly....didnt the stock na come out with 222hp???? secondly....with mods ie, exhaust, pod etc maybe 230ish... your best bet is talking to jedi77...he would point you in the right direction....
Jedi's dyno run showed 155Kw at the rears, which is more than many poorly maintained TT's. This is due to: 1. healthy engine to start with: 2. all the mods that are worth doing (pod filter, U/D crank pulley, headers, head work, custom exhaust system). The only way to get power out of an NA is to spend megabucks... conversion to TT is cheaper. That said, an NA will NEVER compete on equal terms with a TT in good condition, but they are still a lot of fun. The extra low-down torque and progressive power delivery does compensate to a certain extent for the lack of top end power.
stick with the tt. even if u sold ur exhaust, ebc etc off the tt and brought it back to stock you would have some money to spend and it will still be faster and better than the na modded....
Unless you've had offers I think you're making a big assumption about getting 13K for a TT Zed in the current market, you need only take a look at our Z-car sales section to realise it's well and truly a buyers market. I guess you could take it both ways, lose on your sale but benefit on buying back the NA. Personally I wouldn't ever sell a TT to buy an NA... just seems like a step in the wrong direction. It's doubly silly if you have any (straight line) performance aspirations. My manual Aus-Spec was nice to drive point to point, but when its power and performance were surpassed by modern hatchbacks it was time to admit the game's moved on performance wise (I can only imagine it'd be worse in an auto). My advice would be to keep the TT or get a nice NA and save your money by avoiding 'performance' engine mods altogether. I'm sure 3 grand would go some of the way to improving the suspension though. My 2? Cheers, Adam.
You do make a good point, i guess, its all just because as of late there seems to be alot needed to be done to my TT, biggest being clutch, then a list of small annoying little things, however the 1 thing that upsets my about my car is simply its look on the drivers side bonnet (above the wheel) there is ALOT of paint missing due to heat and time perhaps looking into a re-spray would be nice, im aware it kills the cars value blah blah but i plan on keeping it a long time, just at a cross road atm weather its the TT or NA.
I can see where you're coming from, but I guess the other side of the coin is that some people just don't care in keeping up with current performance trends automotive-wise. To illustrate my point; an xr6 turbo is just a late model, mass-produced family sedan. Yet it will easily cane many, many old Ferraris. Does this mean no-one would take an old Ferrari over an xr6 turbo? Of course not. I'm not saying a zed is a Ferrari, but to many of us, it's a realistic supercar, and not just because it has 2 turbos, look at all the NA owners. To the OP, if you can drive the NA and enjoy it for what it is, you *could* downgrade to an NA from a TT. I drive a TT as a daily, and had a drive in Evan's (ZedEx) NA, and it didn't feel slow at all, very responsive. I guess it's up to you to find out if you can live with an NA after having a TT. -Kirill
