[QLD] Top Gear Sprints - Sat 19th April

I will be running in the QR Top Gear sprints next saturday if anyone wants to come along and say hi. The Top Gear sprints runs the clubman circuit instead of the sprint circuit, but is pretty much the same deal as the normal sprints.

I will be trying out the medium compound in the RE55s for the first time, on the front tyres (still running slicks on the rear) to see if that improves the handling and to see how long they will last.

If the missus is working I might pull the zed out of the car hole wash it and come along. Like to find out more about getting involved in racing.

this weekend is at QR Rory

next weekend is at Warwick.

PS in this format of racing, they start us off on the grid, 3 cars wide so its a race from the start line into turn 1!

 

I will also need someone to help me out this saturday.

I need to transport 4 wheels to the track to be swapped onto the car when I get there.

So I will need someone to transport 2 wheels and I can transport the other 2 in the Zed.

what time do you need to leave brissy and leave the track? cause whoever take your wheels will need to be there that long too.

Doin the door banging sprint down the straight huh, should sort em out.

 

What time does this event start?
Many ppl go to this ? i want to get there early enough to get a great vantage point.

you wont need to worry about getting a good vantage point racing starts around 12. I would be surprised if you cant get a spot on pit will on the start finish line.

 

I've done this before at morgan park sprints. I usually get beaten on the start, just cant get the power to the ground, but then the 400KW reels 'em in by the first turn
