hehe. I doubt I'd go to that extent, however if the torque converter ever needs work aka repairing or replacing, I might raise the stall point 500 rpm.
I suppose if I bought the car as a 1/4 mile project car, I'd be in it.
Since I only take it there once or twice a year, IMHO it wouldn't be worth it.

I'd love an extra 500rpm up my sleeve for driving the streets too, and by raising only that amount, I could still keep the lock up clutch.
I drive 20,000 km per year in the Zed, so, drivability is important for me too.

Yeah I hear that, you WILL destroy the torque converter eventually though haha You can still install a transbrake and keep it fairly drivable, some setups have the option to either release manually or automatically at a certain rpm. Or just sit at the line, spool up and bounce the needle off the rev limiter until the green light goes and then pull the release manually and vvrrrroooom! It engages SOOOO much faster when compared to simple brake torquing (that word looks so wrong). You could have two cars both IDENTICAL in every way, one with the transbrake and the other without. The one without will get left behind every single time without fail!

Something to think about anyway, PM me if you want a good hookup for SERIOUS transmission mods. It's not that much more to get a auto built to hold 500kw+ than it is for a stock auto rebuild believe it or not, suprisingly little difference actually.

I've got a friend in the U.S with a 9 second 1/4 mile daily driven Z31, haha! It's ridiculous but it is possible if you have the goolies and the forearms to hold onto the beast! :D

The MPH is a good indicator of power.

Not sure what your mods are but 104MPH is about normal for a stock or near stock Zed.

nah i havent had a chance

but the lsd clutches or whatever must be dead i was thinking about this the other night and might explain what happens when im going around turn 4 at QR when the car seems like no power thru the turn then all of a sudden kicks in im thinking when i go around that tight corner one wheel is freely spinning for a split second seen the diff its locking and trying to drive the wheel that all the pressure is on..
im not too concerned about it at this stage as on the street its fine and i need to spend money on my house for a change :bash: :D

A second hand diff shouldn't cost more than $200.

Cheap fix if your handy with a spanner:D

I was in the same boat - couldn't make it (due to family stuff, car was fine!) Really wanting to be there at the next one, maybe another one before the end of the year?

Well done Greg on getting the 2nd fastest auto time! If only we could all have reaction times like Wokburner: 0.093 - who are you, frikkin' spiderman or something? :D I'd like to see what Caz could lay down with a quicker sprint off the line...
