Another really good day at the track, only 1 zed competitor though, you can always count on JT ^D^ Also a big congrats to JT for setting another new PB, I'm tellin' ya man sub 60 secs is coming real soon for ya.Any way pics are up on my site. Click Here
wish i was there > by the next sprints my baby will be back to A1 and might even have the clutch prob sorted plus with a nice set off headers installed also. 8D
JTs class dominance continues! Smashing the field for a tenth of the cost of the opposition in their $250K super cars. Sub 100s in frickin haulin some severe ass in anyones book. Well done, just think - ambient was 22 deg, just wait till the middle of winter when it gets down to around 15 degrees, may be even equal to a normal Victorian day! Well done dude, sorry I had to bail back to the town with endless opportunity. Was good to catch up with the Willowbank westside massive crew. How many points is that now total? Catchas.
Hey Trayns Pity you didnt get to run, you wouldve smashed your PB for sure! It didnt seem to cool off any more in the afternoon and my fastest second run was slightly slower at 1.00.92 with the slowest lap in that run a 1.01.72. First run managed a 1.00.80 which beat my PB by .96! pretty stoked with that, bit more power would be nice though:YD
the elise runs in the 1.07s and the 996 GT2 porsche is running in the 1.05s but both should be quicker. fastest GT2 ive seen ran a 59sec lap.
Good stuff Good to see some guys getting out there amoungst it. Similar times at the track to GT3 or GT2 with good driver is amazing alright. I suspect Porsche driver not wanting to bend his car or as good a driver. I would like to get my slot car up there especially if you get a few zeds together and some GTR's to contend with. It looks like QLD is the place for zeds at the track. I have been speaking to the guys from Street Machines in Brissy re getting a bunch of imports out to the track including their big mod GTS-T with GTR motor and GTR's. How many zeds were at the track or canget to track days up there?
Hi John there is about 7 or 8 forum members here who have run at the QR track, but we usually get 3 or 4 show up to race on any given sprint day. You should consider coming up for the hitech shootout which is run later in the year, or one of our monthly track days which attracts about 100 cars.
Sounds good but A hundred cars would not get much of a run? Should see if can hire the track and round up the guys on Zed, Skyine, Soarer, Silvia, FTO forums? What day of the week are these events you guys go to?
sprints are on saturdays and you get 3 runs of 5 flying laps + in and out lap. You dont get alot of runs in but the good thing is its only $65 for the day as compared to some track days $300. I would be keen for your idea, but you would probably have to book the track on a weekday as there is always lots of events on the weekends.
Same in Sydney Oran and Wakefield are always booked out. Just ahve to get in early after the big guns get their dates for the year. Eastern Creek is same but other prob is it is very expensive at around $5 or 6k for the day. I would rather pay more and get more runs though if $65 and a hundred cars not so cheap considering time on track. Lots of time in pits for some to talk about it, but I guess you guys are like me and want to get out amoungst it.
I would like to see the guys from Street Machines come out onto the track so I can KICK THEIR ASS! I tried dealing with these guys once to purchase a car and was met only with a wanker who expected me to buy a car, on the day I rocked up, without so much as a test drive. :N( Steer clear of these guys kids!! Well done again JT - you rock! Hopefully I'll be back out on the track again real soon to mix it up with you and Trayns
agree - I can't believe they are still in business when they have such as bad name and their prices are way over what the cars are worth. To top it off they are arrogant and only want to deal with some young guy that is easy to manipulate. If you know too much about cars they don't want to deal with you cause you will most likely pick up on their dodgy speedometer winding back and dodgy repairs.
no not the full circuit for sprint days we run on the shortened track which is easier on brakes than the full track. I have run on the full track once, have to pull up from 230kph to about 70kph on the back straight and most street cars wont handle this after a few laps. Im pretty sure that touring cars are around the 56 sec mark on the sprint track.
