Proposed ACT tech day

hi all,
I need to get my zed back on the road asap (moving house soon)
and ill be putting my new engine in next weekend (fingers crossed)
ive never done it before and could use all the help i can get,
so i figured if anyones keen, why not make it a bit of a tech day! :zlove:
there's space for another few cars to be worked on (weather permitting) at my place in waramanga, and im more than happy to provide a BBQ and beers (or girly drinks if u swing that way )
i have both days off work (27th and 28th) so it can be either day depending on what suits people better.

Yeah, the forum is gay like that...
Logic is that an E*I is fostering the idea of a 'auction' which is deceptive and likely to disadvantage members financially :W:
I say, old chap. What do you plan to do to get your car 'back on the road'?
Not like I can attend or anything (big trip for me unless many beers are involved )... but if people know what needs to be done, you might be able to get a heads up on parts etc that will make the job a 1 day job as opposed to a 3 week z-fixing-fiasco.

Just need to get the engine and gearbox in.
ive got all the parts i need,
all thats lacking is knowledge, experience and a couple of extra sets of hands

 

'box and engine in at the same time, for the win.

Remove radiator first... and the viscous fan for extra room. With enough hands and some good control of the engine crane, should be a good day to get her all in and running. I assume its a NA?

i definatley do want to do it that way.
only issue is, the carport roof may be a little too low
the car is on ramps and when we pulled the old engine there was a slight issue with the hoist hitting the roof before the engine was at the desired height
should be able to hitch the hoist a bit closer to the engine tho.
might just be able to get away with it.

Couple of mate's offered to give me a hand.
So it should be all done in a few days.

BTW, not interested in a full width radiator air guide are you that you could paint up for yourself ?
