updates 23/3/08 Well ive finnally go the engine together at last, just waiting on a few bits and pices before i can chuck it backl in, heater hoses, engine mounts and some turbo hose. The polished plenum really looks good on there and im glad i did it. the detailing kinda lost momentum after that since i dont want this build to drag on any longer than it has to, i have a bunch of spares that ill detail up over time and get them on there , polished CAS, chrome balance tube, all that stuff. here are the pics.
thanks Im not upgrading anything this time round that doestn need it. all i wanted to do was rebuild the stock set up and do the work that cant be done at a later date, port the heads and polish the plenum etc.
lol yes now you can say you had a hand in it! i hope you tightened all the bolts up right Ash's claim is the little water hoses on the back . lol
as you can see, I only went for a half polished plenum. I decided to only polish the top flat areas, 2 sides and one front. This really reduced the workload and i was able to use machines from 90% of the way. i wanted to make sure that the areas that i polished were done to a high standard, rather than trying to do the whole thing and it end up being half assed. So all up i probably spent 6 hours on it, then a few minutes to paint the non polished areas.
oh what, did i do those cams...arrr thats why it looks so good lmao im not going to take any credit for it, i did nothing mate, was all you. thats an awesome accomplishment to do what you do and im not gonna take any of it from ya... well done dude
here's some more pics, they pretty much explain themselves. I just got the drivers seat repaired, thats why there is interior shots.
Good stuff, I'll have to come down for a look one day. As with polishing plenums, I did mine and would rather gouge my eyes out with a burnt stick than do it again
its hard to say when ill be dropping it in, maybe tomoro or monday night., but there will still be alot to do and see next weekend if ur keen
