Ok so I finally decided to start posting this. It'll come in dribs and drabs at 1st but the main concept is to stick a BA/BF Falcon rear wing on me' Zed!! Here's some really crappy "Geez why the hell haven't you got Photoshop yet?" pictures of what I'm going to achieve! Uploaded with ImageShack.us From The Front... The real deal... I've made up some MDF fillers to extend the wing strutts using a template I made from the Wing itself and made a 'mockup' of what it will look like. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us It's going to be sprayed the same color of the car of course (AG2) and the strut extensions will be shrouded by ....wait for it!!!! A Milo Tin (finished off with body filler to hide the seam and sprayed Matt Black like the SS Comonwhore) and in the process will fix up the crappy tint job I did on my Tail Lights, re-spray the rear Bumper and get a new Black Sticker with Nissan 300ZX on it.
Iv been waiting for you to post up this little project is this the wing in question? looks pretty good, even your dodgey pic has a nice look about it. cant wait to see moree! matt.
Yeah similar except mines from the Old SR6 and doesn't have the middle strut.... still can't decide whether to get the strut sprayed or grab some Matt Black Vinyl..!
Yeah It looks pretty similar... I always liked the chunkier look of the Ford wing though, although the wing struts would have been easier to work with on the 2K wing. Oh and the Series I Spoiler's staying put Anti... I'll be using the same template and cutting a profile into the Tail Wing to mount the Ford one then blending in the join and off for a respray... [TIS]
Thirded lol, just look at Karl 90TTZ's blue beast for inspiration, then imagine his blue beast with the stock wing still intact! :vomit::vomit:
A spoiler on your spoiler so you can spoil while you spoil (the look of the car that is) The spoiler shape looks good, but god... not on top of the factory spoiler.
Yeah I've been wanting to do this for quite a while now just have'nt gotten around to it yet. Was the 2k wing on Brocks car that gave the idea :zlove:. Andy
Mate just source a stillen spoiler, they'll do exactly what you're after and they'll actually blend with the zed... Either way lose the stock spoiler!
Update... Time for an Update!! Now I know that most of you guys didn't like the Idea in the 1st place and I respect that! I still liked it and went ahead with it and need an opinion on the angle of the wing. I had planned to make it only just slightly tilted forward but made a terrible stuff up when I cut the wrong bolts (always mark them with a textor in future, especially at 12:30 am) As a result of this major stuff up, the wing appears mounted at an aggressive angle... but it's really starting to grow on me! It's not finished yet, still has to be sealed in and finished off (it's bolted as well of course). I also took the opportunity to respray my sills, mudflaps, rear end front wipers and cowl, calipers and re-tint my tail lights and wire up an extra wheel change emergency red light so that they're both functional. Oh I also did a little Matt Black detail job on the mirrors for a shnazzier look! So the wing... less angle or fine looking aggressive??
So this is why you were hiding yesterday. I reckon the progress is looking good. I saw it in it's raw form a couple of months back and I can see how the changes have taken shape. To answer you question (less angle?), I dunno. I've gotta see it in the flesh first. The back shot looks menacing. The matt black around the mirror looks good too. Gives me an idea now.... Remember - there will always be haters. Your car, your money, your project.
oh for the love of god DITCH THE STOCK WING! I like your wing but cannot stand the double wing look... it really looks like you have bolted an after market wing to a stock zed... which you have... how ever... pull the stock wing off and it will look OEM which is what you want...
concept is good, but i think the angle is pretty full on........ personally, if it was one of my cars id delete the standard wing and lower the second wing 3-4 inches but its your car, and if your happy, then enjoy iy the way it is, your car after all, your car, your style!!!
