    Definitely.

I will be spending most of my time walking in the desert national parks around the SA/Vic/NSW border so there will be plenty of that.

Don't worry about that, if you think I am going overboard with my car preparations you should see the planning and effort than is going into the food, I look after my stomach :D

No panic, just a poorly written post, read my response to BigCol for more info, thanks for the reassurance though.

    Thanks :)

Did you actually manage to move that thing or was it just there for the photo? :D

I'll put some silicone vacc line of different diameters and some cable ties in with your order. It can be handy stuff for roadside repairs and a compact bright LED torch to see into the many dark spots the Zed has. Nothing worse than trying to find something you can't see :)

Zeds LOVE road trips !! Im very envious :p , nothing I like more than jumping in the Zed knowing I have lots of k's in front us.:zlove::zlove:

    Caz.. :)

    AndyMac Better than you

Some al-foil so you can roast some potato's on the manifolds while driving. Also pack some sour cream and little bacon bits. Makes a great hot lunch and you can join the exclusive club that uses the VG30 as an oven.

Oh and a small amount of chicken wire to make a little basket around the foil wrapped potato and tie it in place so it doesn't bounce out, that was my rookie error in my first attempt.

I am trying to keep the packing to a minimum, other than the oil and water all the rest of the stuff I am taking is smallish.

I was thinking of taking it to Joe but decided to do it myself, hence this thread.

Lots of gaffer tape, I am a photographer so that is my first choice for fixing anything anyway.

    Thanks for that, most appreciated.

I have wind up LED torches so I don't even have to worry about batteries for them.

It will indeed be a great trip, no set destinations or timetables, I will just be staying in highway motels and such most of the time so I can go where I please when I please. In 10 days I can get pretty much anywhere and I have a few days up my sleeve if it takes more than 10 days too. :D

If you swing past on Sunday Pete I'll give you a collection of sapre electrical bits like coil packs and relays that you might not be able to find in the middle of no-where.

One year ago today i drove from Launceston(Tas) to Perth(WA) in my new beast. Took a change of clothes and a co driver.

If i knew a bit more about Zeds i think i would have taken a few mechanical bits in case of any gremlins especially in a car that i had seen for only an hour.
    :biggrin::biggrin:

It was a great trip. I recommend it to any one. Across country in a beautiful Zed. The only way to travel.
