    Hey all,
my z's been sitting in the shed for about 2 and a half months now with out being started due to the awesome gearbox i have. I decided I'd better start it as it'd been sitting for ages, but wasn't sure if there was anything important to check beforehand(besides oil, coolant,). When it first ran It was only on what sounded like 4 cylinders and after a few mins was still running really rough and much louder than what I remember. As it will most likely be sitting for a few more months, Is there anything I should do before I start it again or anything I should do before I leave it there? Cheers, Jordan.

Oh yeah if this is deemed to be in the wrong section feel free to move:)

Should be fine to sit for that long...

Jjust disconnect battery when you are about to leave it sit for a while

Before starting check water and oil...

Probably bad connections on injectors or ptu causing your troubles with it sitting and the ocean air seems to kill the zx electrical connectors,

from my understanding if the car has been flat or disconnected for a while the computer will lose its memory which may cause difficult starting and to run rough for a while until it adjusts itself again. also long term damage could be done to the battery when completely discharged. There are battery chargers available that you can leave on a maintenance cycle that keep your battery charged up as needed , this might be a solution for you.

no an s2. I didn't think 2 months would be a really big deal but I really didn't like how it sounded. It got better after 10 mins but was still loud

Check to see if its firing on all cylinders,

Pull the connector off a coil pack one at a time while it's running see if the car changes rev's

if so good the cylinder is firing

if no change that cylinder is your problem

It's only the self learn the clears.
The ECU doesn't run in closed loop on a cold start anyway
