Had to cut my power steering hard line as the bolt to the high pressure hose was stripped which needs replacing.

Is the correct way to connect this hard line with a flared nut or will a compression fitting be fine? what does the original use? as i could not separate the nut from the high pressure hose I do not know.

Any info would be appreciated, so far I'm going with a flare nut to connect the hard line to the power steering hose, confused as the pipe is hard and flare fittings are supposedly only for soft pipe or so I've read.....

I assume you mean the one under the engine in front of the crossmember, if so they use a double flare fitting.

I had my old man silver solder (weld) one on in place to fit the thread on the hose that enzed made up.

Looks like the easiest option as there is **** all straight pipe, Could I mig weld a fitting to that pipe you recon? what is it made out of I was expecting copper form all the stuff I've read but it's silver and magnetic?? Is it stainless steel?

So many questions for what at first glance looks simple ;)

Don't mig it.It has to be silver soldered.Flare nut would be easier.Soldering would be stronger better. If you are going to get it silver soldered ( welded ) make sure they know what there doing.I did buy a flare nut fitting but there was not enougth pipe facing the right way after cutting the old fitting off.I was just lucky my old man was a fridge mechanic for 50 years and is good at welding in tight spots. Also had the gear still.
