Hi Zedders, i'm at it again as this is my second thread regarding the same problem. Steering wheel is nice and soft for couple kms and then goes hard like there's no power steering and will come good again. I have so far changed Oil, hoses and solenoid valve, new steering column fitted about a year also ago. What else should i be looking at??? Cheers and safe driving

Is the odometer intermittently working? If it is, remove the speedo cluster and clean the dust and gunk of the number wheels.

If not, check the flow control valve on the steering rack. Often the wiring at this valve can be damaged and getting a bad contact.

This happened to me but for me it was that the driver side fuse box wasnt in all the way and was loose which must have happened when i got my alarm system installed and so when it got loose i lost power steering, so i got it all tightened and it worked normal again. That was my problem but with yours it could be something totaly different but its worth having a look. Good luck :)

Odometer is working fine and solenoid valve has been changed as well.
