power steering problems

    Hey guys just recently bought my 300zx and im having problems with the power steering under hard lock im getting a hissing noise but once i turn the steering just off hard lock it stops

    That's normal, unless you hear a squeal which would indicate loose or worn PS belt.

    yeah ok maybe i should have described it as a squeal. soo you reacon its just the belt but the only thing is i havnt ever heard a belt slip like this before and its only under hard lock

    Yeh mate be the belt slipping. Check for belt tension and fluid leakage. If there is fluid about get onto it ASAP because it will get worse and make a hell of a mess.
