hey guys and gals, i'm about to do an n/a tt motor swap (n/a to tt) and was wondering how much power the n/a gearbox is rated to?? i know that the condition of the box will come into play with this question. mines not great but it still runs fine and i may have it reconditioned before the engine goes in. i know that (well i've been told that) the tt gear boxes are one of the strongest nissan made (true/false?). anyway just need to know what kind of power i can run through it before it craps itself? cheers, Andrew
Apart from different machining depth for the starter motor and a few of the cast ribs inside the bell housing being machined down a bit. The concensus of opinion is that the NA and TT boxes are the same.
Same box TT and NA have same gears and only bell housing slightly smaller on NA and just need to grind high points a little and goes straight in with the larger TT flywheel and clutch. I used a NA gearbox behind my race car for years with up to 456rwkw, no probs but used a single plate cltuch so kind n gearbox.
Sweet Was going to ask this question as ill be upping the boost hopefully in the near future after my na to TT conversion :zlove:
this is only true for the manual gearbox right? the N/A auto isn't going to last long behind a TT motor is it?
