Just changed the head unit in my Z so I can play my MP3 player via an Aux In. All went Ok except the power antenna.
When I turn the unit on the antenna comes up, problem is it stays up even if I am on CD or Aux. I have wired up a simple switch so I can manually switch the antenna. Do I need a relay in line? Any ideas?

your supose to wire it onto the power antenna line.. you might have wired it onto the remote line which means when the headunit is on it is on...

if u are using a pioneer or JVC than you will not have a power antenna wire and u have to do what you have done or just live with it...

Yep, it is a Pioneer. I had one wire(blue i think) from the new head unit that I wired up the same as the original.
I also heard that leaving the antenna up with this setup may drain the battery?

and also leaving it up does nothing.. its just the look of having some metal thing sticking out of a car that people think cost 70k...

Unplug your antenna simple. Unless you listen to the radio alot, you don't need it. I really hated the look of that thing sticking out of the car so I unpluged mine :D
