    Hi all,

Driving home from 8 ball last night I hit a big pothole with a really loud bang. There was no visible damage apart from the front bar outer support bracket, but the front end was making noises as I limped the car home. I figured this was the support bracket for the front bar and decided to drive to work and fix it later. However, a short way down the road there was a terrible metal on metal grinding noise and the front wheel fell inwards at the top. Obviously something has given way and I'll get the car up and the wheel off tonight and have a look. I have midori type camber arms and adustable tie rods fitted.
I'm just wondering if anyone can have a guess as to what has broken before I get home and get the wheel off to give me an idea of what I'm up for.
    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Dave

My psychic senses tingle at a madori arm failure...But I also see that you will fit a jack to your Zed and remove the wheel to uncover the truth.

midori arms shat themselves is my guess if the wheel flopped in like that.

edit: zilverz32... just like me, your psychic ability is incredible :p Truly a case of 'suck it and see' to find the problem.

Haha, thanks for the quick replies guys and for the unbridled sarcasm :).
Anyone in Adelaide have a spare camber arm? A stock one will do to get me out of trouble.

    Cheers

Get a pair - somethings are just better in pairs. Camber arms being one.

Yep, and it all dosnt take a physic to inform you that the control arms are not a part you want to cheap out on.
Worn bushes in just those upper arms can radically change the handling of the Zed. But damaged or low quality adjustable/midori control arms are as you found to be borderline dangerous!

Any wheel damage?! I did the same thing recently and buckled a rim fairly severly

No, I was lucky with the wheel. You're right Madcow and I will get a pair but my first priority is getting it on the road so I can get to work, so I may just get the one side sorted at least until the weekend. I'm going to have to put some kind of adjustable camber arms or kits in eventually anyway because of the ride height but anything will do for now.

Thanks for the replies all. Much appreciated
