    Hi guys,

Just new to the forum, recently got meself a 1989 TT and everything was working fine until one night parked it not different then usual and the the next morning... nothing. it wouldnt fire. it turns over, its getting fuel and air, has a spark and the timing belt is still intact as well as the teeth and hasnt jumped out of place, it has taken me alot of money for people to tell me they dont know whats wrong... :| A few very knowledgable people however have told me that it may be a problem with the PTU, can anyone offer me ideas or advice? Please! :D

    Cheers,
    Matt.

Have a look in the tech section.
There is an article where you can do an ECU self diagnosis.

The error code for the PTU is 21.

    Egg ....

Good advise.... doesn't sound like PTU.
They usually fail while running due to heat... I'd check CAS connector first.

ye id start with checking all the connectors throughout the engine bay...

a friend had this problem with his zed for a while. and when i shook the ptu connecter while he was cranking the car fired up...so if you get someone to shake the connector on the ptu and it starts well your connectors need cleaning....its a starting point. go through all the connectors in ur bay...
