Just connect the "Inlet" & "Outlet" Heater pipes/hoses from the engine, together. That will ensure that no further coolant/water enters the cockpit/Heater Core. Problem solved until you get around to fixing/replacing the core.:zlove:

It's funny how much easier it's said that done, read up how to do it, seems like a fun day of messing around with the dash

It really is that easy dude, there's no dash out/engine apart to worry about. The inlet and outlet are in the engine bay...

Deans said that dash out is easier..

After reading the write up I assumed to be doing it with the dash in as well, but I'm obviously working off the basis that he knows better

Maybe there's been a case of miscommunication here

Do you want to replace the heatercore, or bypass the heatercore until such time as you're able to replace it?

Bypassing is the only option for now

Then all of the work is in the engine bay, either with generic heater hose or with a cut down falcon heater hose, both of which can be had cheap and easy from your local auto store.

No "maybe" about it Bud. Bypassing the Heater is simple and ALL do-able in the Engine Bay(as I have suggested).
Replacing the Heater Core is something you ONLY want to attempt if you have plenty of mind-numbing substances on-hand.:eek::zlove:

It can probably get cold in Victoria, maybe borrow your brothers 12V hair dryer for those frosty mornings, I know he has one. :p

    OR

    Get one of these: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...C2.A0.H0.Xcar+heater&_nkw=car+heater&_sacat=0

I reckon they are a great idea, no waiting for engine to warm up, not such a problem in Queensland.

    Hahahaha.

I'd probably have a replacement by the time that heater would find use, though you're right.
