I'm about to do my first plenum pull to change to rebuilt injectors, I'm also replacing all the water hoses in the back and I was wondering what else if anything I should be doing with the plenum off. I have a new gasket and injector cushion o rings. Any advice would be great and sorry if the info is already out there I did several searches but didn't find it.

    The essentials are:

Plenum gasket / lower plenum - O rings

    The recommended is:

Do the PCV valves whilst your there ! A part of the 100 k service but they often get left out but are crucial to not blowing up your engine

The fuel hose in between the rail ! Essential to replace since it also gets often overlooked! Only replace with top quality fuel hose and clamps (you don't want a leak in this place)

    The stuff to check:

Also check the PCV hoses and clamps to make sure there o.k.

Make sure you have the extra hose to run to the turbo water line when you do the delete

Make sure the heater hoses / clamps are serviceable

You shouldn't need to replace the valve cover gaskets as a general rule (I normally just make sure there tight) but if they are leaking then replace - you should also replace the cam seal gasket at the back of the VTC's if doing them.

That's about it - other than tools time and patience and the applicable deletes like EGR etc

Good luck - hope its painless - A offset spanner can help with undoing the EGR plenum bolts........

PCV valves can be cleaned easily. Just soak them in a jar of petrol and then use a little screw driver to check they are operating freely.

I would add the injector insulators to the list, they are cheap and pretty much guaranteed to be 25 years old.

Would also consider swapping out injector plugs if they are old and crusty.

Mark your connectors as you are separating them to save confusion later.
Make sure NOT to connect the windscreen washer hose to the vacuum ports on the plenum. Don't laugh, its been done before.
Pay close attention to good Earths when reassembly, saves frying your PTU (spark controlling thingy on the front of the timing cover).
Recommend replacing the coil pack connectors as they could also be crusty like the injector connectors.
