    First of all I owe all of this to Mark Field (Zed4Life - Zedcare) if not for him then this car would still be sitting in my garage, in a million pieces.

    The story goes that about 3 months ago I had a severe coolant leak, so the plenum pull became urgently required (i had been planning to do it about a month later than i ended up doing it). With the help of Mark, Rob (K-zed), dink, Fleet, & a very hung over brenton, we completed the removal and everything in less than a full day, and replaced O2s.

    The next 2 months! is how long it took me to get almost nothing done (replaced some small lengths of vacuum hose and painted plenum etc.) and being at work 6 days a week I just didn't have the time to get it done.

    I spoke with Mark and arranged to have the car towed to his place for him to commence work. That was about a week and a half ago, and last night the zed was on the road and better than ever! I have to make special mention of the fact that when I sent the car to Mark I just got all the parts together (in no real order) and put them in the boot, he sorted through them, replaced (at Cresta) the necessary components, and reconstructed the whole thing. Here is a list of the jobs done:

    * Started with a jigsaw puzzle of hundreds of
    parts/nuts and bolts...
    * radiator + hoses + inhibitor
    * fan
    * fan belt tightened
    * exhaust and intake valve covers
    * All new crankcase breather hoses,
    * Under plenum water hose bypassed
    * All new silicone vac hose
    * 10 new wiring connectors to fuel injectors, CTS, AAC, FIDC and Air Reg
    * removed wastegate solenoid brackets so easier to work around
    * pre/post-turbo piping
    * checked all intercooler<>turbo piping and secured boost jet lines
    * sorted out and identified all vacuum hoses.
    * Throttle bodies/linkages/IACV/Air Regulator reinstalled on plenum
    * Plenum installed
    * Injector rail installed
    * Ignition timing checked
    * TPS adjusted
    * Relocated PTU
    * Repaired PTU internally (which decided to die just to piss us off!)
    * Replaced battery
    * New fuel line
    * two trips to Cresta
    * A million other little things!!!

    I will post some pics shortly of my new partially bling-ed engine bay!

    Mark definately went backyard blitz!

    His work was great, and I mean absolutely meticulous, nothing was overlooked. I knew that handing the car over to Mark meant a far more thorough approach than some of the local mechanics, and so I was happy to do so. I know that while my car was there it was his only concern, and that it would receive the fullness of his attention. I know everyone on here already carries Mark in high regard but I really cannot praise him enough for the work and help he has given me.

    Great work Mark. You should be extremely proud of yourself.

    I'd say a lot more, but someone will probably decide to disagree with my comments and this thread will become VERY long.:p:p:p
    You are a credit to yourself and all who know you.

    Are you going to Coonabarabran Mark? 'cause I was just thinkin' that

    you may not have a spare minute to admire or experience anything other than what's under the bonnet of a Zed.

    I hope you've prepared well for .... how many is it so far .... 695 (or something like that) Zeds :LOL::p;):LOL::p;):LOL::p;)

    Will you be so :zlove: after this I wonder? Or will you decide to be "out of the office" for the period? (I would be!)

    Good work Mark !!!

    Cheers,

    Peter

    2 sets of alarm (GB alarm & Zid) work beautifully together although I sometimes forget to turn off ZID.
    Thanks, Mark.
