Does anyone know where you can buy, beg the plastic bit that attaches it self to the rear of the door lock barrel. Nissan want you to buy the whole lock $115.

    Small bits

Personally I find wreckers are a good place to look for the small peices. Maybe talk to someone thats selling halfcut parts in 'for sale' section?

    Good luck

Don't know where you are in Queensland Blueman

but try giving John at Cresta Wreckers in Capalaba a call 07 3245 1555. If he has the bits he'll mail them out to you.

I carved mine from a chunk of 6061-T6 alloy. All you need is a hacksaw

drills and some metal files to make it.

I made mine from some key alloy...

Cut in the same shape as the plastic thing (basically) and drilled a hole to use the other plastic bit that fits into it  (the bit that holds it onto the rod) and slowly filed out the grooves in the other hole to fit over the lock, was a good fit, the only thing is that the key over turns a bit (u get use to it though) but its never going to break again. EVER!!

    key alloy..

Basically you need a soft metal that you can cut and drill and file down (aluminium, not steel or iron), the metal i used is the same used by car keys, i got a chunk from my dads work (hes a fitter), so i guess if you know someone involved in metal work or works in a workshop with engines you could ask them, if not you could probally try a metal yard, they might give you an offcut.

    good luck. :)

    Alloy part

Well I took your advise and carved, filed and drilled the part out of aluminium and it works.
