Personalised Plates in the ACT are only for the Rich!

Enquired with ACT Rego today about getting a set of personalised plates for my Zed here in Canberra/ACT...

What I was after fell into the category of "Unique" plates... I was far from ready for the quote that they fired back at me...

Woah!! I thought our custom acrylic ones were expensive at $495! 2grand+ for a number plate is ridiculous

the euro plates in wa are 1.1k so double is abit too much

that is the same price for them up here in qld too.

 

When I was shopping for plates ages ago, the upper limit for NSW was around $400 per year, for personalized plates. So that quote is not too bad if it's a 1-off payment.
At least its better than every other ACT plate starting with the letter 'Y'

Maybe if you formally change your name to LILBAZ, you can get the $746.60 plates

thats rough, in Vic they are promoting all sorts of fancy plates.

I got HYP-101 for $300 once off payment
I got Z32TT for $500 once off payment

I am paying a total of $880 pa for 300CAZ and 300BAZ (in NSW). It is hard to see the value, and I am thinking of letting them go. I till have BJE-300 in storage, which costs $90pa.

$880pa would be better put towards the full leather re-trim I want to do.

If you have any reference to the colour, make or model of the car they are on or what year the car was made in,
