Perma-Cool Engine Oil Cooler WITH Filter relocation kit

These are quality USA made Perma-Cool? Universal Engine Oil Coolers which include Oil filter re-location kits .

Engine oil not only serves as a lubricant for moving parts, but as a coolant for the crankshaft, rods and pistons. The bottom end of the engine relies solely on engine oil for cooling. For this reason, maintaining the correct oil temperature is critical to the engine's performance and longevity.

** Due to where our oil filter is located fitting a sandwich type adapter can lower the filter to a vulnerable position.
Installing this oil cooler kit allows you to position your oil filter remotely which not only makes changing it easier but its also safer.

After researching I believe that these are the most efficient Engine Oil coolers available.

Perma-Cool? coolers incorporate the patented TurbulatorTM fins to "mix" the hotter and cooler oil with oversize tubing to insure ample oil flow. The result is a design that takes full advantage of heat exchange with the coil and prevents stalling of the oil flow while providing more of a temperature drop. This difference is important and it's only available from Perma-Cool?.

    This is the 250HP kit.

The kits come with everything you need to install including illustrated instructions.

There are 2 sizes of coolers available ,

    1.5" X 7" X 14" for 250HP $233.00 OR

    1.5" X 7" X 21" for 450HP $324.00

Postage would depend on your location and cooler choice, I would send them the least expensive way accordingly.
Maximum cost would be $18.00 (450HP to Perth)
Happy to group ship to save costs.

Minimum of 8 for GB to go ahead.

Group buy will run for 3 weeks closing Friday 2/2/07

If my PM box is full please email me caz@cazracing.com.au

    Where do they relocate to?

I saw ZX2NV's and that looks like a logical place to put it.

    Where abouts Caz?

    Im interested in 450HP

how much of a difference will this make

how much of a difference will this make
for a stage say 5 car (standard engine & turbos with bigger SMIC, ~ 14psi boost, ecu, filter & exhaust) ?

    Short answer friggin heaps.

    and oil cooler project

This is the same kit Caz is offering as its tried and proven for our cars.

I run a fan on mine now which pushes air into the low pressure area under the car at speed and I get some 20 degrees difference in oil temp on the track compared to before when the cooler was mounted behind my FMIC. This kit replaces the stock oil cooler and can be mounted in the same position if desired by modding the bracket, or you can mount it on the back of the FMIC with a space of at least 5-10mm, or mount as I have done.
I relocated my oil filter to the RH front side of my car (drivers side) behind the bar where the old SMIC used to be and works great I also have my oil temp and oil pressure sensors there too. Very easy to change filter just reach under bar and change it.

These are great up to around the 250 odd KW mark I am just looking at upgrading mine now as I break into the next stage of mods.

This is a top price so get em while you can guys and girls.

Feel free to PM me or email at jason@oasisairservices.com.au if you have any questions

    Caz does it again

My cars stock really besides pod, turbo back exhaust and clutch.

Although putting a FMIC on and may up boost along with ecu and fuel upgrades in the future.. What oil cooler size would be best. I don't think I will be doing bigger turbos or anything mainly due to the $$$ :(

What size cooler should i get?

    Cheers.:)

I'll have a 450 please probably Caz my darling :)

Don't know where I'll put it but will find somewhere. Do you also have the fans like jason put on his?

And before I commit, re Rob260's comment. Does it come with a thermostat and more importantly does it need a thermostat?
    cheers

What are you upgrading to jason? I'll be well over 250rwkw...

Base line should be around 400 to 500 rwkw then add Nitrous for a Dyno shaking 630ish maybe a bit more but will probably have to change out the stock 5 speed gearset for dog style or similar.

Looking at the Trust T517Z turbos at the moment or going the Garett GT3071R's still working it all out whatever I pick will do the external gate mod I just love em. Still thinking about the crower stroker kit especially after chatting with Mark Leader today.

HighonBoost go the smaller kit it will be fine for your needs mate.

Oni and Rob260 no stat comes with it not really needed for natural flow but if putiing a fan on will need it. The fan I used is a DC 8inch job and Caz should be able to get em with the kits. I have my fan hooked up to a Greddy multiswitching system that controls my VCT and radiator SPAL fan the cooler fan and radiator fan run together. Hope that helps

are these as efficient as the multi row coolers you normally see?

Its a personal choice thing Naveen, I can't tell you which one to get.

The 250HP one will do a good job for the majority of Zeds, but for those who have invested in a bigger engine they would be better off with the larger one.

    Caz.. :)

Hi Andrew, from what I have been told and what I have researched this style of cooler is most efficient for engine oil.
Its light, all alloy and would dissipate heat very quickly with air passing through.

Yes you can fit a Perma-Cool thermostat, the kits don't come with one but they are available.
I will get a price in the morning.

I'm still lost on where the oil filter relocates to and what orientation.

FOr my money, the stock oil filter was in a great position compared to, say, RB motors where it unscrews sideways and spills oil down the side of the block.

I can appreciate the issue about the sandwich plate creating ground clearance issues.

Can we get some more detail about where the oil filter will be, and how it is oriented?

Finally, re installation, what modification will be required to the stock bracket? Simply drilling holes or more than that?

    Thanks

    Andrew

If you are running a FMIC a relocation point could be

in the OLD SMIC location. That way you are getting air passing through the vents.. Mesh it up a bit to stop debris damaging the fins... This would probably be the place of choice for myself. ORRRR the location Jason has done his with....

    Terry

By the way CAZ... i am interested in the 450 one.....

being a sandwhich plate type i presume this sits inline with the high pressure oil circuit rather than the pressure bleed off type that the stock oil cooler is

are we sure adding this much extra piping and cooler will not effect oil pressure by the time it gets to the cam shafts (last thing in circuit and very $$$)?
