Think its time to start performance upgrades :)

need some feedback guys on what goes well on the TT zeds, its mostly stock at the moment excluding the exhoust and wast valves.

what will give the most power for you dolla.

lol, well for starters say goodbye to alllll your money:p You'll start with one thing, oohh ohh I need an FMIC, ohhh now I need bigger turbos so I can run more boost through my new FMIC, ohh ohh now I need a new radiator (speak to Jason he's the MAN!)....and soo it goes...:p

Umm for all seriousness though, I think a FMIC or upgraded side mounts would be the go, then you can up your boost a bit more, which is what makes a fair amount of difference. UDP may be the next step..( oh sorry I was guessing you had an exhaust?? cause that would be the very first thing on the list:) ) then from there there is millions of things to do, all you need is money!! :D :zlove:

    A properly maintained Z will.

    Do:
-How to perform an ecu diagnostic (tech section)

    Report back, then:

-The 6 Ps: Proper Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance (tech section)

When was 100k service done? If hasn't, do that.

    Then you are ready for:
    Intake
    Downpipes/Testpipes
    Chip
    Boost
    SMICs.
    Upgrade Clutch/Flywheel/Driveshaft
    Traction Control
    etc
    etc

Should put down over 300whp pretty easily.

    IMHO.

i would of thought alot of people would boost before they get a new chip... then intercooler(s) then chip then more boost?

Alot of people would. Alot of people will also get detonation and be down for a rebuild. Stock ECU cannot handle 15psi safely, so the jump from 9psi to 12psi which is relatively safe to do will not realise much of a difference in the seat of the pants dyno.

    Stock ECU: 12Psi
    Chipped ECU: 15psi
    Chipped/IntercoolerUpgrade: 17psi

    IMHO.

Had an all over service done a month ago as i have only owned the car for a little over 3 months. everything is running clean, mechanic said it was the best zed he'd looked at. With Waztted's help last week at the perth tec day we checked the engine, idle, responce and all that jazz, and was blowen away at its preciseness.

    i think its ready

Running 15 or 17 pound on stock turbos and internals is a little risky if the condition of the car is not well known and maintained. Yes many people do it but how many last the distance. I can run 18psi safely as its been setup and tuned on the dyno specifically but only in short bursts at the drags (exhaust temp gets way to high) track boost is constant 14psi max.

    Cheers

Firstly get a dyno figure for a base figure on power, air/fuel, boost level and torque.
After this you will have an idea on how your engine is running and whether you need
to do some basics first, as ZDUCTIV has posted. From here you can plan your attack,
best first mod would be a new exhaust system from the cats back, then work on the
intake by adding a pod filter. These simple mods will add decent power and response. Next step would be larger cooler(s), a SAFC to tune your fuel maps,
up the boost and get it tuned on a dyno and compare results.
The list is endless, but after these mods you'll have a stack of power at hand.

already got the exhause set, 3 inch pipe through the body with 3.5 inch muffler.

i bought my zed completely stock and did the following upgrades straight away.

    Cat back exhaust
    Pod filter
    iridium spark plugs
UD Pulley and adjustable boost controller (run Max 12 PSI)

Found it all to be good bang for buck with plenty of noticable difference.

howerver use the high boost setting sparingly as stock intercoolers

this was a reasonable price for the extra power i got. also had the car tuned to all the new mods of course.

next step is intercooler upgrade and a bit more boost and possible power fc or microtech to fine tune better. i think that is as far as im going its a daily driver and even that much is getting the dollers up there.

Ponit being initial basic mods made a big difference and reasonable cost.

    Ok

Agree with what everyone has said so far, now your question was what'll give u the most power for your dollar

Now there are a couple of things that are really good value for money, being pod filter, underdrive pulley, maybe S-AFC, etc etc, all are a reasonable price and wont blow the bank completely, unless u buy all 3 at once :D hehe

Also and this is my opinion, turning up the boost has to be the most powerful bang for your buck, get a boost controller and wind up baby, but like the others have said this may be very bad for a unmaintained engine, but by the sounds of it yours is in decent condition so shouldn't be that much of a problem, the list is really endless, depends how big your wallet is :D

Step 1. Make sure zed is up to power upgrades
Step 2. Install Decent air filter
    Step 3. Install Boost controller
Step 4. Get a tune, ROM the standard ecu
Step 5. FMIC or upgrade SMIC

Step 1-4 Got me a 12.7sec 1/4mile time, a 66sec long track lap time around Barbagallo and 230rwkw.
