Is it acurate that they should stay closed when held vetically due to spring pressure... (ie Hose Connection End Up, Threaded End Down...) I read somewhere that the are not a part that wears out but both of mine when held vertically as described above open about 6mm.. they do rattle when shook so aren't sticky...
