Yeah thought about that but the main advantage of the VG is the cast iron block it was engineered and built for high hp applications whereas the VQ being alloy will disipate heat quicker but wont be as strong as the VG running big turbos and large shot of nos (talking at least a 300 shot)

Not too fussed on what it ends up costing I am not doing it as an investment or anything just what I want to put in to the car I always wanted one since they were first released.

lol, if someone thought that any type of car 'besides classic/vintage' is an investment, they are idiots. Even the new lambos drop a hell of a lot, even with only 5000k's on the clock.

I think you could mod a VQ to be just as quick as a VG with no problem though.

I am getting a new GTR when they come out in 08 unless something else comes out which is just as good at the same time.

    Method,

You do realise the estimated price for one of those new is ~$150,000!!!!!!

If that doesn't phase you, then you now have a new best friend. :)

Maybe so But I would be worried every time I hit the Nitrous button though about making some port holes out the side of the block. There are not that many VQ platforms running high numbers yet and even fewer running twin turbo kits and nitrous if any

I mentioned the investment thing due to this quote
In all honesty, going to that extent on a Z (stroking/custom internals) is a waste of money (except for custom pistons) unless you are going to make it a straight drag car i.e. 350mm wide tyres, no interior at all etc.
It threw me a little, nothing is a waste of money short of burning it, we all do things with our money that we want to do that gives us pleasure, satisfaction and sense of well being so to spend heaps of money on a zed is not a waste if thats what you want to do, if I was after all out speed and something quick I would buy a ducati race bike or similar I just love the zed and will probably never stop spending money on it hell we are only one week into 07 and about 3k has already been spent on the car this year. I dont want some mild thing with Eagle rods and GT28RS turbos like everyone else I do things differently and want to squeeze as much power as possible over time out of the VG just like ASH is doing in the US, not saying I want to be compared to ASH them some damn big boots to fill I just like his style he does what he wants his way and I like that.

    Cheers
