Ordering new S1 loom, but have a S2 PTU - Chasing input...

I'm ordering a new S1 OEM EFI loom from Coz while the engine is out and i'm putting a fresh engine in. But i'm running a S2 PTU which i've hard wired in. I don't really feel like chopping up a nice new S1 loom to solder the pig-tails in, and also don't feel like ordering a whole S2 PTU upgrade kit just for the adaptor connectors. (as you apparently can't buy just the actual S1 -> S2 connectors, without buying the S2 PTU aswell as bracket.) :(

...so after some opinions really. Or ideally a link to somewhere that just sells the S1 -> S2 adaptor connectors - or someone on here that has one they'd sell to me... ;)

    Cheers,
    Benny. :)

Just buy the actual plugs to fit the S2 PTU, you can buy the plugs new not fitted to wires.

From there you can cut the wires from the S1 plugs on the new loom and fit the terminals for the s2 plugs on your new loom then fit them in the plugs - just like brand new! :) no soldering etc and if done correctly zero chance of any issues as it is as per OEM.

I did this to my own car rather than running adaptors and risking trouble with them.

Stock S1 type matey. plug and play with a stock loom.

....are you thinking about getting a S2 type loom by asking that question bud? If so, don't forget S2 has different CAS also. So just for the 1 different style connector, i think i'm better off sticking with the S1 loom still, and just adapt to the S2 PTU.

Im in the middle of sorting out all the finer details for remaking a RHD loom including s2 ptu connectors and other updated items. But going to be a little while off before i get production happening. Have to make sure its all correct ;) Will eventually have them up for sale too.

Petrojet are pretty good for a lot of hard to find items. Good guys to chat too as well.

Send Eric a PM, he knows all the differences between the 2 and the best way to match what you have with a new loom ;)

Have you already relocated your PTU to under the nose panel? Good time to do it with the new loom, plus you will probably be cutting off AIV & EGR plugs. Talk to Eric and see if he has sorted a main loom joiner plug (cuts into the loom next to the battery) and then it can all go in and out with the engine.

Yep Dino, i remember the discussion with Eric with his plans for producing these also, but as far as i'm aware these aren't in production as yet. And unfortunately i'm needing this sorted within the coming 2-4 weeks, so i'm just biting the bullet and getting an OEM one atm - especially while the aussie dollar is above US currently.

The harness conversion kits will not be in production until later in the year. We have all engine bay connectors available now including new S2 ptu's. I will have a talk to my guy and see if he can manufacture the S1 ptu male connectors to help others doing a similar thing to you Benny, won't be quick enough to get you sorted but will help others down the track.
