I've been stuck indoors for a week with the current dreaded 'flu bug and was really looking forward to making Oran Park, but....
I NEED a fix.... how did Dan go?? Did Greg use my wing?? Did Oni play up AGAIN...????

    Maybe it was you Mike

who gave me this dreaded lurgy. I haven't been out of the house since Lynne's dinner and you were sitting not too far from me as I recall. :)

Last night was my first time out of the house since that event, and I went to the Oran Park Drifts.

Dan was controversially eliminated and didn't make the top 16. That put a bit of a damper on things. It was as cold as a witches (oops, can't say that) and the combination of that, the last remnants of the flu and the fact I forgot my chair meant I baled around 8pm when it got down to the last 4. Oni left a bit earlier than that as the cold got into his bones.

Dan had gone but Caz was still about when I left.

The major winners on the night had to be suppliers of front bars and bonnets, and of course tyre dealers.....

It wasn't a good night from the teams point of view

Zed was going well, Dan was driving brilliantly but it all went pearshaped when what was an obvious battle win was given to the other car .
Even the other car knew he had lost and headed back to the pits!

The other car was owned by the major sponsor of the competition.

So we packed up our toys and went home(the workshop :) ) and drank beer.

I don't know what will come of it, I try to keep out of the political side of things...Im a lover not a fighter (aka wuss :p).

    Are you serious!

I'm a fighter, and that makes my blood boil!!! Luckily that didn't happen at Symmons Caz
I would have been in the judges faces, armed with my pop tarts and all!!!

Were they the same judges as at Eastern Creek?? Methinks there might need to be a shake-up of some kind to restore the idea of fair play!! I would be ashamed as a sponsor to win any event under those circumstances... unless it was the beer-drinking event in the workshop!!
There were a "few" controversial decisions at Eastern Creek, but this sounds ridiculous... especially when the "winner" virtually concedes defeat by driving back to the pits after the run...!!!:confused:
