    Hello all..
Was just curious on everyones opinions for tint on the zed. I own a red zed that currently has no tint .. I've been offered tint that's 5% if that makes any sense so it's insanely dark.. And im not sure what i should get ... What im curious about is what others have and what they like?

5% looks awesome, but keep in mind thats only 5% vision, compared to no tint being 100%,

5% looks great but is illegal and at night you cant really see out of it, so parking and turning can get difficult as you can only see out the front window,

35% is the legal limit but if you compramise for 20% its still usable but cops wont pick it up either

5% is crazy dark, go for the 20% or 25%. Keep in mind that in (QLD anyway) 35% is the legal limit for passenger cars, laws are different for licenced limos.

Side and rear vision isn't great to start with in the Z32, go with the legal 35% and you'll still be able to see out.

Sorry that I posted this in the tech spot I'm on my iPhone and happens to push the wrong link :) so my apologies in advance..! I saw a zed driving along the south east motorway the other day that had mirror tint it looked pretty cool but his car was black and mine is red but I guess you'd get over it?
I have the option between 5% , 18%, and legal limit but the legal limit is far to light..

What's the deal with privacy glass then? (glass that's been injected with black dye) a lot of new cars have it even though it has no protection from heat or uv.

I've got 20% on the quarters and the rear window, and 30% on the wind ups. It looks great and No trouble from the po po.

The cops will only test the tint on your wind ups 90% of the time, and 30% tint will pass their tests as the testers arent that accurate and they have to leave some lee way for tints, thats coming from an ex copper now the owner of tint mart.

I would stick to a legal tint - my Z below has the darkest legal tint that was allowed in 2001, can't remember the % rating. It's difficult enough to see out of when reversing at night, no way would I go any darker. Unfortunately side refelections don't give a true impression. Tinting was done to door glass, quarter windows, and hatch.

Bolle tint on my windows and it is the darkest legal tint. It also has the advantage of being a ceramic based tint vs metallic and therefore GPS and other equipment works with it. I think any darker than legal and you run the risk of being uninsurable.

for Safety sake ... Go easy .. not sure what my tint is , but at night in a roundabout in the wet, I once nearly didn't see (or give way to a car on my right) and it was nearly 'smacko'. I have to wind down my window when getting into similar situations now, just to be sure.. Its a pita.
But I wouldn't say mine are way dark. its bloody dangerous and I don't even live in a city .. but I do live in the land of roundabouts .. not many 'lights' at intersections round here.
consider! functionality over form in this regard.

Keep in mind that when you take the targas off and have the sun shining in your face, any tint on the rear window makes it hard to see anything behind you
