I have a 1 piece tail shaft It's lighter  can handle more power  loses less power (power transfer) and of course it is cheaper than a new 2 piece  I got mine done at Nissport
When backing off power, my shifter jumps and you can feel the vibration right through the car. ie. it doesn't rev down nicely like it should. this is the centre bearing right? anyway, if it is, anyone know of someplace in bris that manufactures these non-oem 1 piece tailshafts? Cheers, Simon
sounds like it.. though I didn't have any shifter movement so maybe that's the gearbox mount. I'd probably take it for a cheap balance at a place with a hoist and ask if you can have a look under there while it's up. Should be able to see if the center bearing is sagging from behind (bring a torch). If the bearing is gone you could have whoever is doing the tailshaft check the gearbox mount too.
Maxie if you can wait a while I will probably be getting the Carbon F. driveshaft as it comes to about $1300USD delivered, if we get a few it may be cheaper??? They are fully built and balanced ready to self install. I would be looking at it maybe later on in the year as I have no problems at all with my current stock one.
This quote was given to me from ACPT from April this year. I think they make military and aerospace stuff so the quality is apparently the best. link Is it the same placE? If so they must have halved their profit or manufacturing costs
