OK so AFAIK I need an oil pump replacement to get my Zed back on the road. I've searched the tech section but cant seem to find a list of parts I'll need.

I have a guide on how to do it, so that part is covered, and I'm comfortable doing it myself, but really need a list of bits I'll need as dont want to be doing the back and forth to the parts place in the middle of the job.

Also does anyone know the exact specs for the bolts that hold the starter motor in?

Edit: This is an Auto TT.

The engine needs to come out or you have to drop the crossmember and take the sump off . Big job so might as well do the 100k service while you have the timing belt off .

Im going to be testing pressure first with a gauge before I go pulling shit apart just to be sure, but here is the story thus far:

Car had lifter tick, posted a video about it before, wasnt too concerned.

Lifter ended up shitting itself and killed a cam shaft in the process and had a huge knock (Sounded like rod knock but from the top end). From what I'm told the lifter collapsed, the valves are fine.

Took car to Bryan, cue that disaster.

When I got it back, the cams have actually been replaced from what I can tell, as have the lifters, but I was told it was losing oil pressure as soon as it got warm and it started ticking.

As it got returned with no battery or starter motor I havent been able to confirm anything but I was told the pump was working but couldnt keep up once the oil thinned out when it was warmed up.

Now have a new starter motor, just need to get some bolts to install it and I have a spare battery that will do for the interim. Just want to get some info so once I test stuff, I can go straight out with an informed list of shit straight away.

Unless of course you have another theory, because Id love for it to be something else.

Other info: Car has a small rear main seal leak and prior to the lifter death it was getting enough blowby under boost to blow out the dipstick. This got worse as the lifter tick got worse prior to death and as the lifter tick got worse, oil smoke under boost got worse. Definitely not a leaking turbo.

Edit: Car has already had the 100k service.

Well I dont have any of the stuff needed but will go pick it up tomorrow if I get time and post results. How do I stop the motor firing while doing a comp check? Just disconnect all the coil packs or is there a better way?

Also, start motor bolt size...14mm doesnt really mean much.

M10x1.25 40mm seems to be the size...same for both top and bottom bolts I'm assuming?

Coil packs should hopefully be disconnected already if you're doing a compression test. Disconnect the cas to stop the injectors firing while you're doing a comp. test.

That sounds right . Should be similar bolt to the tow hook bolts .

Make sure you do all the checks that A2zed has mentioned before you do anything with oil pump .

Oil pumps are not overly common to fail .

Tektrader Z32 Hoe, service me baby

Look for the fuse box just behind the drivers side shocker tower (the small one) and pull the fuel injector fuse out.

OK Test done - Bryan is a ****ing c**t.

Engine knock EXACTLY as it was when I took it in, from what I can gather all he has done is take off the cam covers. Was told it runs fine until engine warms up then tapping starts returning - what actually happens is car starts, engine knocks.

Did a compression test on Cylinder 1 only as I know this is where the problem is:

Got 110psi, dropped about 2xtbsp of oil down it, got 125psi so clearly its a ****ed big end/little end/cylinder/not a ****ing lifter at all.

Time to chase up the cops on getting my shit back as he has my perfectly good spare engine still.
