Plz dont Go "Search and you will find" cause i have searched, and i didnt find

i have oil pressure now getting around the 0 mark when idling, so i believe it is my Pressure sending unit that isn't working, im just asking where is the best place to get a new one (in tassie or anywhere that ships for a good price). I have sent the local Nissan Dealer ship an email but ive been told they are ripoff merchants for parts, so does anyone know where i can get a dedcent price unit?

    Thanx in advance

I got mine from concept z. it's much cheaper but only works out that way if you can spread the shipping cost across a few parts.

Some people have used a VDO unit instead of the

original. The resistance figures are very similar when I investigated. Suggest you go tho the "tech" section and look under "instruments". Hope this helps. Cheers.

Before buying a new one. Try drilling out the hole with a 1.5mm drill. Don't go too deep though. Stick a paper clip in to get the depth first.
You'll need a short or cutdown 17mm spanner to get the sender off.

    Agree with candu

Try drilling out the sender first, i did and its been fine since
    2 years.

What part do u actually drill??

Does anyone have pictures of what to drill or of that actual process. It sounds dangerous, wouldn't want to stuff up on this one!
BTW i have never looked at the sender in my car, will i know what you are talking about if i take it out and have a look?

    If you take the

sender out you'll see right away where to drill, its not dangerous, just do what candu said, stick a paper clip in the hole untill it stops, drill about half that depth the clip went in.

    Well its

fryed moridin! worth a try though. did it work at all? you could ask john at cresta if he has one that works, but in the end, new is better. Or look in tec for the part nu off the non nissan replacement. Plenty have replaced these things only to have them fail again not to long afterwards.

One question for you, does the oil pressure when idling sit on zero when it is cold? If it sits on zero only when the engine is warm I would say that is very normal. Of the numerous Zeds I have worked on, including mine all sit fractionally over the zero when at idle and oil is warm.

when its cold (aka going to work @ 5am) it sits on 2-5 or thereabouts at idle and may go up to 6 @ 3-4000 rpms, when its warms up it sits about2 ish at a constant 3000 rpms and about (diagram below) the 0 mark when idling

    0-**----|----4------------8

    ** = where it sits

I'll check mine again when I go home this evening.

thanx, it varies alot but if the car is warm (i just took it for a longish run) it will sit at that ^^^^ point unitl i give it some constant (2-3 mins) revs (3000rpm) then it will go up to maybe 2

OK, mine at idle when cold sits at 4, 6 when moving. when normal operating temp sits around 2-3 at 2200RPM and slightly over 0 at idle. If your pressure is still coming up after consistant RPM hold, yep the sender itsa shagged ;)
