so I realised that some people have psi oil gauges while others have kg/cm2 gauges and I was wondering what would be the norm for it to be during warm idle?

psi gauges are for usdm cars, while jdm and adm zeds have kg/cm^2. According to the factory manual, anywhere between just above 0 to the halfway line (2kg/cm^2) is acceptable, however the gauges are known not to be the most accurate, and after 20 years there's a fair chance the oil pressure sensor isn't working that great either. It's not uncommon for them to have erratic readings so if yours is acting strange I wouldn't be too worried about it. Best thing to do if you're concerned is to attach an aftermarket oil pressure gauge to get an accurate reading.

Mine sits about 30 psi when warm.

Just like any oem pressure/temperature gauge, it's not ment to be accurate, just to indicate the respective fluid is in the system.
