got a real bad oil leak! how bad does the rear main seal leak over nite? mines leaking a 10cm radius staight underneath the bellhousing nowhere else when left overnite. does the rear main seal leak that much? oh my exhaust is covered in oil from driving wat do you guys think?
I would think..... that a leak would start small and then get bigger. maybe it has been leaking for a while but you havent noticed??? also, you sure its from the rear main seal??? what if its leaking higher up and running down the back of the engine?? Either way, a leak that bad should be fixed asap.Cheers
yeh it did start with a small........ leak, then after one of my fuel lines went fuel got everywhere and thats when the big amounts started. i dont know if its the rear main seal but, do you guys reckon it is? anyways ill look underneath it tomorrow and try n c!
If its the rear main seal.... the bottom of your sump will be wet with oil, and if you shine a small torch up between the bell housing and the rear of your engine, you'll see shinny oil. You wont know for sure until you get under have a look, but I'm betting on the rear main seal as it is a common site for oil leaks on zeds. I have replaced 2 already.Cheers
