I have an oil leak just behind the sump just wanted to know if anyone knows what that part is. I was thinking rear main seal. Can anyone confirm.

The part in particluar is a black sort of square part directly behind the sump. No pics unfortunately unless anyone can post one of this area.

    Any Idea?

I think thats where I had oil coming from when I had a rear main seal leak. It was leaking when I bought the car and I had to get it fixed for roadworthy. The oil leak had contaminated the clutch and it had burnt out pretty quickly. I think the seal itself is around 50 dollars on ttz but the labour cost from a mechanic is pretty high because you have to take out out the gear box.

I had another look at that picture. Can see some rust forming on the chassis rail (closest to bottom of pic). Looks like its down to bare metal. Should get that sealed. Did you ever have a leaking brake master cylinder? Is it leaking now? That brake oil is nasty stuff. Completely stripped the paint off the inside of the engine bay under the master cylinder in my car.

Hey Sandeep, the pic is not of my car. I have had the rear main seal done once already only about a year ago and replaced the clutch at the same time (hope it's ok) well off to the mechanic we go i guess!
