Wow I forget how expensive the NSW costs are to keep your car on the road...
Just registered the Z in WA a few weeks ago and it came to like $450ish total for 1 year rego and 1 year CTP

And custom plates are a one-off fee...not annual.

I know it f**ked. For the last 3 years, every year it has gone up about $100.

First it was the MCIS levy, which then dbled the year after that, and then I have no idea why my online quote just then was $80 dearer than last year...

    F**king NSW

    I hate this state.

**Edit by the way, I was told you can put down the car manfactors year in the green slip at the time it was complied? If it was a Jspec for eg and brought over here and complied here in 2005, it can be registered as that? True?:p

That was the Renewal from NRMA. They normally come down a bit when I tell them I have comp insurance. But it's a joke.

Gee Andy that a serious Green Slip you have there.

The combination of my grey hair and semi-rural postcode brings my NSW Green Slip in at $291. :p

i am also in a country area - apparently CTPisnt calculated by age or location, they told me its calculated on the age of the car

They (whoever "they" are) don't know what they are talking about. Use the calculator. Postcode, age of driver, age of car, NRMA membership, comprehensive insurance history, claims status, etc, etc, all are risk factors that are used to determine the final premium.

Yep exactly, just see, change the postcode, massive difference, change the age of the youngest driver, etc, see for yourself.

Yes well if I put my postcode is as crookwell (out back of Goulbourn) Then it drops by a $200

If I make my self 39 years old, it drops as well.

If I make my car a 2008 model, it drops as well.

I dunno...us inner-city folks just get stung. I guess with all the idiots who just cross with their mobile phones glued to their ear makes us drivers more likely to clean one up.
