Perdictable power curve With a good EBC you can create a curve that increases at a rate which suites your desire.
A titanium exhaust would be nice If given free access to titanium (tubes, rods and sheets) and some basic machining tools what else would you replace with it... tailshaft, some suspension and steering components and brackets are the main things I can think of. Anything else would be too difficult to reconstruct.
what do you want What do you want, someone to tell you what to do. you want to supercharge a 300zx, maybe the best thing you can do is go see someone like cappa. they do all these super charger, turbo mods, and do really good job, but it does come with a high price tag. where is all the weight?, glass is heavy, and there is alot in the 300s, maybe there is more steel in the body to make it stronger, the back hatch is very heavy even with the gas strutts. not sure in what appication you want to use the car for. most of the guys writting about weight reduction are right. only thing to do is to start taking weight from the body. not the idea if you are using this for road use. i do know a guy that builds race cars. he would help you build a lighter car, buy reducing body weight. it would cost a few pay packets, and not legal in road use, it still comes down to what you want, you must know what direction in where you want your car at, at a horse power/kilowatt level. it could be a long and pain staking task.
macman, and others with NA's..... Its really all simple... the NA is fast up to a degree. If you want to go faster, you can mod it, but that will always cost more money. If you want to go faster still, then you must go TT. Thats it. If people are not happy with their NA speed, then just go TT. If the drive to be the fastest car on the street or to be able to say "wow, I've got a 12-13 sec car" the NA is the wrong car. Cheers
i feel proud, if i have a fully tuned N/A zed n/a vs turbo is not a good try mate. except super class na such as f430.
here here Mark... If u want straight power get a big block But if u want a practical daily sports car with around 260hp (which is ample to compete wiht most other daily v8s and Turbo 4s) you cant beat the NA 300zx for the overall package.. looks, sound, low down torque, handling, relaibility and smoothe Comfort.. total affordable sex on wheels...
manufacturers have moved on from using magnesium in wheels etc... this is where the term "mags" came from.
I find it hard to believe that just anyone could do an engine conversion on their own. Its not just a matter of dropping an engine in.. Things such as engine mounts have to be engineered etc. in oreder for your car to be 'legal' My mate has the only skyline in aus with a V8 in it and I can tell you now it wasnt the easiest of tasks. He spent easily over 10 grand and this was just for the conversion with all the parts needed. Not incl. supercharger etc. It runs 11s and is not registerable anymore. You should see the hubs he runs!! My opinion stop being a bitch and get a TT:LOL: :zlove:
Because with great power... ...comes a larger fuel bill/insurance etc. You may not believe it but some of us have other things competing for our wallets attention at the same time
