    Hey bros and hoes,

Question 1 : Can NISTUNE (program) scan stock ECUs or does it need to have a NISTUNE ECU to run diagnostics and tests?

Question 2 : Seeing how you need registration to operate the program...do I have to buy a new licence for the ECU/Program or will NISTUNE be able to provide me a new registration based on pre-existing ecu codes?

Seeing how when we bought DEVIL ZX, it had a bit of work done to it, exhaust system, turbos, intercooler, BOVs and a few other bits and pieces, I would assume its got NISTUNE, got this idea when Tom @ PZP plugged his laptop into it the other month and it came out with Board 2 on his laptop, havent had a chance to look at the car since seeing how its at PZP as we speak...lol

    Regards,
    Leon.

    1. Nistune can read codes/info etc from a stock ecu no probs.

    2. If you had a license already, it would have been registered to your email address. The licenses are registered to the individual not to the board itself.
New license would be about $200 from memory...

Question : How do you check the make/model/version of the ECU? is there a code or sticker on the chip which'll tell me that? Id assume so.

Bla bla : We didn't have a licence, we bought the car as it was, all we knew is that there were aspects about it that were far from stock.

If someones spent the money on GT28rs and all the whistles to go with it, we'd assume they put some kind of ecu in there, so even if it is running NISTUNE, would have to buy a new licence? bollocks, makes sense though.

Hmmm... Depends on who did the Nistune install as to whether there would be a sticker or not...

One sure way is to pull out the ecu, pop it open and have a look if there is a little circuit board where the eeprom socket is meant to be. If there is, u def have nistune installed. :) GT28rs? Nice turbs!

lol I wish mate, havent looked hard enough, just wanted the more legit approach first before I try "alternative" methods ;)

Chilled : Yeah when we get the car back I'll be sure to have a look with my bro, caught us by surprise when Tom told us about the GT28rs, I nearly choked on my lunch when my bro told me LOL lets hope it does have NISTUNE, went out and bought that GReddy Profec Spec b2 or whatever it is off of Jinxed, cant wait to strap that baby to it man.

download nistune and use trial as username and password. once you close it uninstall and start again. or start nistune as a service if you know how...

just because it's got a nistune board doesn't mean the person who got it put in had a licence as well, only the tuner needs the licence

Just buy a software licence and your problems are over!

Completely agree. Support some Aussie made stuff for once. For the money it's really quite good. This isn't something crap like Windows we're talking about :p
